Blue Cod’s web quoting solution is designed to make on-line policy quoting simpler, faster, and more efficient. Our solution integrates with our hosted policy administration system allowing agents to obtain a “quick quote” in real time, add additional full rate and quote information, and issue the policy directly through the carrier’s system, if all carrier established rules are met. 

Our web quoting solution is an automated process that begins with an agent asking their customer a series of questions. These questions are to focus on specific criteria established by the carrier and can be related to rates and underwriting rules. The agent will then submit the criteria into the user interface portal designed, developed, and maintained by Blue Cod staff.

Once the criteria are submitted through the user interface portal, the information then circulates through a series of Blue Cod or third party interfaces. These are designed to run queries such as background checks on records through the departments of motor vehicles, credit scores and Claims Loss Under Exposure (CLUE) information.

Using the information collected, Blue Cods’ next interface, Watch Rate, rates the policy. Once the policy rate is determined, the information is sent to the carrier policy processing system. This system will generate the actual policy for the customer with their specific information, including the rate and requirements. 

The agent can view the policy immediately in Blue Cod’s Allternet™ agent portal. Through Allternet the agent can print a copy of the policy directly in the agency. 

This entire process is done with as little manual intervention as possible. In some instances, further information may be required, but overall this process will be done automatically providing less wait time for customers. Web quoting gets customers up and running within minutes and gives a secure feeling that the customer’s needs are being met in a very timely fashion. By limiting the manual intervention, we are limiting the number of human errors.
