Consulting Services – Clean Slate

All too often companies look to technology first when trying to solve problems or respond to changing business needs. But implementing technology without understanding the underlying business dynamics can often make matters worse. With Clean Slate, we work with our customers to help you first determine what they really need. We then focus on leveraging what you have and adding only what is critical to get where you want to be.

Optimized processes bring significant benefit across the enterprise – reduced costs, increased productivity, improved customer satisfaction, compliance controls, and business agility, to name just a few. Clean Slate is an approach that clearly helps you understand where you are, determine where you need to be, and develop a series of small iterative steps that will drive you towards your ideal state.

Phase 1 – Current State

The first phase is to understand your Current State, including bottlenecks, issues, and inefficiencies. During this phase, we ask a lot of 'How' and 'What' questions.

Phase 2 – Ideal State

We define the Ideal State as how would you like the process to work, if you had no constraints. Brainstorming and “green lighting” techniques are used to help the flow of ideas and creative thinking.

Phase 3 – Stair Design

After we identify the gaps between Current and Ideal states, we reintroduce the realities of priorities and resource constraints. Working with you, we design a set of steps that can deliver small, iterative, measurable successes. This staircase leads towards the Ideal. A reevaluation strategy is developed as a periodic “health check” on progress.

Phase 4 – Stair Building

Our “stair step” approach to implementation allows great flexibility as steps can be accelerated or stopped as business drivers change. As we complete each step, we measure our progress against our predefined success strategy. Are we on track? What should we continue, change, or stop?

We believe that constant communication between or project teams offers the best assurance of success. This is what we mean when we say, “One size fits one.”
