Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director of APPS a Junior Software Developer is responsible for overseeing and participating in development efforts for external customers and/or internal projects.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle
- Works with business users to design user-friendly applications
- Designs and develops tools to be used by the APPS team to help streamline support
- Tracks and monitors issues reported by clients
- Assists in the day to day support activities of the APPS team
Minimum requirements:
- 2+ years software/application development experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience with .NET/C#
- VB6 experience
- Experience with SQL Server 2000 and up
- Experience with Web Services
- XML Experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Bachelors degree in MIS/CIS/CS
Abilities required:
- Ability to work independently
- Comfortable working directly with clients
- Ability to accurately estimate development efforts
- Ability to work effectively on multiple efforts simultaneously
- Good team player
- Ability to step into multiple roles on an as-needed basis
- Desire to learn and support the Blue Cod suite of products
- P&C Insurance industry experience a plus
