Software Development Project Manager
Job Summary
The primary role of the Software Development Project Manager (SDPM) is to orchestrate all activities for the definition, design, building, testing, and implementing of the Policy Administration System (PAS) component of Gatewise. A secondary role of the SDPM is to assist the EVP & Chief Product Officer (CPO) in managing all other aspects of the Gatewise Program. This involves coordination of activities, resources, and communications across multiple projects. The SDPM is the “right hand" to the CPO who is leading these efforts. This position will work closely with EVP & CPO (primary daily interaction), Gatewise Architect and Development teams, Gatewise Business team, Gatewise Business Partners, Professional Services Team, including Project Management Office, and Director of Contracts and Legal.
Responsibilities
Primary Role
- Directly oversee all activities for the development of the Policy Administration System(PAS).
- Coordinate and align contractual obligations against product scope, project timelines, change requests, and development lifecycles.
- Create necessary project plans and resource plans to achieve the objectives of the PAS project.
- Lead multiple teams to achieve project deliverables and milestones from product development through the initial implementations of the Policy Administration System.
- Document and communicate the status and issues of the PAS project to the CPO and Gatewise Steering Committee. Lead issue resolution as needed.
Secondary Role to assist the CPO in:
- Managing all of the inter-relationships of all activities within the Gatewise Program.
- Optimizing team performance with improved planning, communications and clear timelines and accountability across all related Gatewise projects.
- Ensuring project plans and resource plans are balanced across all of the major subprojects within the Gatewise Program.
- Managing the expectations of our customers, development partners and project teams and Gatewise Steering Committee / Senior Management on the progress, issues and expectations for the Gatewise Program.
Requirements
- Experience with agile development and waterfall systems development life cycles.
- Has proven success in managing the design, development, testing and deployment of a large scale enterprise software solution.
- Has managed several conversions from legacy systems to a new platform.
- Deep project management experience in design, development, and release of commercial software products
- Has worked across corporate departments to plan and execute full SDLC for multiple initiatives including new software product implementations, product enhancements,
quality initiatives, and technical upgrades.
- This position requires a unique blend of managerial skills, interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to execute to plan.
- Ability to work with and across multiple organizations, peer leaders and teams to promote and foster strong teamwork.
- Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance Policy Administration Systems is required.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- SaaS software delivery and management experience is a plus
