Senior Database Engineer

Job Summary

As part of the Gatewise team, the incumbent will contribute to the development of an enterprise system with an emphasis on database design and development as well as tool development and core product feature sets.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and implementation of a data model for various features within our core products.
• Hands on design and development of database tables, modeling tools, business objects and architectural components within the Gatewise architecture.
• Develop the approach and framework for these implementations which can be used consistently across various clients.
• Develop enterprise feature sets in conjunction with these components.
• Deliver implementations on schedule and with high quality.
• Ensure accurate requirements and test plans and test-plan automation are being developed for data modeling, business objects, migration and replication work.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience is required.
• 2+ years of .Net, C# experience.
• 3+ years database architecture and data modeling experience.
• Strong database design and programming skills including stored procedures is essential. NHibernate or related ORM experience is a big plus.
• Experience using advanced features of the .Net Framework, such as Reflection CLR, SOA, ETL,is a plus.
• Experience working on, designing or managing ETL projects is a plus.
• Advanced concepts such as custom controls and web services (WCF) are a plus.
• BS Computer Science or related field.
• Must be innovative, resourceful, and willing to take initiative.
• Must be an independent thinker, yet still be a team-player willing to take and give direction.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and communication skills are key.
• Large-scale systems design and development is a plus.
• Winforms (VS 2008) UI Development is a plus.
• Solid analytical and business processing skills.
• Property and Casualty Insurance industry experience a big plus.
