QA Analyst (QA Automation Engineer)

 Job Summary:

The QA Automation Engineer will support our functional automation testing efforts in our Marlborough, MA office.  Communicating and interacting with the PMO, BA and Software Development team, the Automation Engineer will work from technical specifications and business requirements to identify areas where test automation is applicable.  The Automation Engineer will develop automated test scripts from scratch via SilkTester, and perform testing on our P & C Insurance applications.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the QA process from test development, test review, test execution and test analysis
• Design, develop and implement QA test plans, test cases, test tools and infrastructure for new releases from defined Business and Functional system specifications and Use Cases
• Report defects using the defect tracking system entering detailed descriptions of defects found and steps to recreate the issue
• Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, structural, regression, load and system testing
• Work with Developers and Project Managers in analysis, reproduction, and resolution of defects
• Develop SQL queries and analyze data in databases
• Have knowledge of QA commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
• Work closely with developers to identify areas and methods to improve testing efficiency, expand coverage and increase product reliability
• Develop an automated test harness at the functional and system level
• Completes tasks with little to no assistance
• Mentor other team members
• Investigate performance and stability issues involving a large, sophisticated, and evolving code base
• Design, develop, implement and maintain test automation both at the functional and system level
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals
• Performs other tasks as required

Requirements:

• Experience implementing and working with various Test Automations like SilkTester, OpenSTD, and Selenium tools
• Experience creating test harness
• Experience writing SQL statements
• Experience in Windows, software installation and configuration, and internet technologies.
• Must be confident with web based application testing, script/scenario development, regression, automation, load and stress testing
• Ability to rapidly learn applications and supporting software tools applying QA Test methodologies
• Good working knowledge of SQL and experience with SQLServer and/or Oracle
• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile
• Experience with SVN, CVS or similar source control system.
• Ability to write and execute test cases and test scripts
• Experience with all aspects of software testing, particularly web based apps
• 4-6 years experience testing web based applications
• 1-2 years experience working testing P &C applications
• 2-4years experience with Automated Testing
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
